Try The Recipe!

Use a half a lb. of your favorite beans (I used dark kidney beans, light kidney beans and navy bean)

 

Lb. ground meat or lean venison

 

Ham hock or bone 

 

1 large. Onion

 

4 or 5 stalks of celery depending on size

 

5 cloves of garlic

2 carrots grated or chopped

Salt and pepper to taste (I used Tony Chachere’s seasoning)

Soak beans in water over night in crock pot.

 

You can drain beans and add beef or chicken stock or you can cook the beans in water.

 

Beef or chicken stock just enhances flavor.

 

Brown ground meat add to crock pot and add the next 4 ingredients, cook on high for 6 to 7 hours.

 

Add carrots 1 hour before serving.

 

You could cook the carrots all day for no fuss, they will just be very soft.

 

Enjoy your hot bowl of soup on a cold day!
